Strawberry pound cake with strawberry glazing

Ingredients for the cake

  • 1cup All purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup butter/magerine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1tspn baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tblpn strawberry essence
  • Pinch of red color

Ingredients for the syrup

  • 4 strawberries
  • 1/2 icing sugar

Method 1

  1. Preheat oven at 160 degrees for 10mins
  2. Add sugar and butter then whisk thoroughly.
  3. Add eggs and whisk.
  4. In a separate bowl, add flour, salt, color, and baking powder then mix nicely
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients then whisk and add strawberry essence

Method 2

  1. Greese your baking tins with butter then dust some flour or use a parchment paper
  2. Pour the batter in two baking tins.
  3. Put them in the oven and bake for 50mins

Method 3 for the syrup

  • Blend four strawberries
  • Add 1/2cup icing sugar then mix nicely until it thickens
  • Pour the syrup on the cake after the cake has cooled

Serve with any drink of your choice
